Where to go? Why to go?

The academic student affairs offices at MSU are responsible for maintaining the Dean's academic records and monitoring the academic progress of the students assigned to them. Assignment is determined by the level of student classification.

Reasons to go to your assigned Student Affairs Office:

To meet with the director on matters of academic progress.

• You wish to withdraw from the University; this means you want to drop everything in which you are enrolled.
• You need to drop a course after the middle of the semester. This is called a Dean’s Drop.
• You wish to appeal an academic action such as recess or dismissal.
• For assistance with enrollment corrections.
• When you make major changes.
• You need permission to enroll in more than 20 credits during a semester.
• Other actions requiring college-level approval.

Freshman and sophomore (fewer than 56 credits) students are assigned to the Undergraduate University Division (UUD). Assignment is determined by where you live, as follows:

Juniors and seniors (56 or more credits) with a major in the College of Social Science are assigned to the Office of Academic Student Affairs in 201 Berkey Hall.
