Funded Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Andrew Undergraduate Fellowship
Encourages and challenges outstanding students by providing opportunities to practice social and behavioral science through innovative research with a faculty mentor.  Must be an undergraduate major in College of Social Science, minimum of 87 semester credits completed prior to commencement of the award (not prior to selection), high academic achievement, intellectual interests and focused career goals. Candidates are nominated by faculty, chairs and directors or the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Academic and Student Affairs. January 31, 2009 deadline

Dean’s Assistantship
Provide outstanding students with an opportunity to have an enriched research experience in the social sciences with a faculty mentor. Chairs and Directors nominate students from their unit. Recipients will work an average of 10 hours/week January 31, 2009 deadline (January 31st for first consideration. Provost Undergraduate Research Initiative
Designed to provide undergraduates with an opportunity to work closely with faculty on major research projects, usually as part of the faculty member’s own scholarly enterprises. Faculty submit requests for project funding and nominate student researchers. September 11, 2009 deadline. Contact Neeshan Mehretu for application information.
