Alumni Association
The CSSAA Board serves the College of Social Science through a number of initiatives which include, but are not limited to the following:
-Unites the College of Social Science (CSS) and its alumni to promote the mutual interests of both parties through personal, professional, and educational development
-Encourages and supports the establishment of regional CSS alumni groups throughout the United States and the world
-Represents alumni voice in interactions with CSS faculty, administrators, and students with respect to CSS programs and activities
-Disseminates pertinent information on research and development within CSS with regard to advancements in the various disciplines of Social Science
-Encourages alumni to financially support the College of Social Science and its strategic priorities

FUN FACTS
Two United States Senators from Michigan are social science alumni: Spencer Abraham and Debbie Stabenow.
Former U.S. Congressman Nick Smith (1993-2005) from Michigan, is a 1957 Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) graduate.
The School of Criminal Justice in the College of Social Science is the nation's oldest continuous degree-granting criminal justice program, established in 1935.
