College Internships
Internships are an opportunity for College of Social Science undergraduate students to gain practical training in a supervised setting. Internships are often a student’s first step outside of the classroom. Internships provide practical experience and help students practice theories and plan for their futures.
Undergraduate students may intern within government, industry, and public sector organizations in local, state, national, or even international settings. Internship experiences can help a student determine if a given career is the right choice for them, learn job search and career exploration techniques, develop contacts needed for securing a professional position, develop work-related skills, and increase their marketability in the work force.
The college has established criteria for undergraduate students to receive credit for internship experiences. In addition, students should check with their advisers, as several of the college’s departments and schools also offer credit for internship experience.
