Dear Social Science Senior:
The Dean’s Student Advisory Council in the College of Social Science is seeking applications for candidates for the student speaker for the Spring 2008 Commencement ceremony. The selection process consists of a written application, followed by an interview with students and faculty. If chosen for an interview, you will be asked to present a preliminary version of your 3-5 minute speech for consideration on Saturday, March 29, 2008.
It is our intent that by opening the selection process to interested seniors throughout the College, we will find the best qualified individual for this opportunity. In our decision, we shall focus on the following:
- Goals and Aspirations
- Positive Undergraduate Experiences
- Motivation and Enthusiasm
- Academic Achievement (minimum GPA of 2.5)
- Extracurricular Involvement/Volunteer Work/Work Experience
Please return your completed application in hard copy (not e-mail) no later than February 8, 2008 to 201 Berkey Hall.
