Anthropology
Anthropology is the study of culture and its characteristics, variations, and changes throughout human history. Areas of study include:
- Archaeology—the analysis of physical remains to understand the behavior of past cultures
- Sociocultural Anthropology—cultural patterns, meanings, and adaptations of contemporary societies, including medical anthropology; the analysis of health and illness
- Physical Anthropology—the biological and evolutionary past, including primatology and forensic anthropology
- Linguistic Anthropology—the role of language in human society and culture
