History
History is the study of peoples and cultures from the earliest human civilizations to the present, including development and change in societies, economies, political systems, intellectual and religious systems and other aspects of human life throughout the world and across time. Areas of study include all the major regions of the world in all periods as well as transregional and comparative areas such as:
- Comparative Black History—the experience of peoples of African descent in Africa and throughout the western hemisphere
- International Labor and Working Class History—the evolution of work and of the organization of workers and their conditions of life
- History of Migration—the movement of individuals and groups across internal and international boundaries
- History of Women and Gender—changes in the meanings of "man" and "woman" and in the position of women in society.
