Sociology
Sociology is the scientific investigation of societies, how they are organized, and how they change. Areas of study include:
- Global Transformations—the movement of people, goods, ideas, and capital across geopolitical boundaries
- Food, Environment, Agriculture, Science, and Technology—the relationship between cultural attitudes toward the production, exchange, and consumption of food and the evolving technology to alter agrifood processes
- Family and Gender—changing family structures and the intersections of social identities with class, race, and gender
- Urban, Race, and Migration—impacts of people moving among and across national, economic, and ideological boundaries
- Health and Well-Being—social attitudes and determinants of health care
