Instructions for completing Internship application (SSC 493)*

College of Social Science
Internship Program

Today it is essential for undergraduate students to augment their academic programs with internships and other forms of active learning. By participating in domestic and international internships, students will be better prepared for the world of work and graduate school.

Internships provide opportunities for students to gain practical training in supervised settings where they can explore career choices early, test classroom theory, establish professional contacts, build self confidence, and gain a wide range of work-related skills.

Eligible undergraduate students, majoring in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences, may earn academic credit for their internship experiences through the College Internship course (SSC 493).

Students should check with their academic advisors about earning credit for SSC 493, as several of the College’s departments and schools also offer credit for internship experience.
